Welcome to LotusBean.Com

It is with much respect that I greet all who visit LotusBean.Com. Ever since I can remember I have had a passionate compulsion to create.  Building a website to showcase the creations has been a dream of mine for some time now, but procrastination & doubt got in the way of my making it happen. Over the years, a small voice kept saying , "Just Do It , Do It Now!"  Finally I listened and began the task.  A name for the site eluded me also adding to the dilemma.  Then out of the blue the name "LotusBean" came to me.

     Why LotusBean you might ask?
  To me,
"LotusBean" is metaphor for life itself and more specifically my life journey.  The lotus is a delicate flower that blooms in the murkiest waters and beans hold potential for all types of life forms.  Since very young, I have endeavored to study life and humanity through philosophy, religion, yoga, meditation and payer.  After much time, I have come to realize that my life is a journey and a living realization of the connectedness of all things.  I am a part of the never ending cycle of Gods creation. I am an individual but part of a collective, imperfect yet made perfect by understanding my imperfections, and I am this and I am that.  How I perceive life creates my environment.

Knowing that delicate lotus blossoms thrive in murky waters assures me that I can rise above any challenges life has to offer
to become the best that I can be.  I strive to be fully expressed through my works, so I hope that it does inspire and perhap enlighten your journey. Thank you for visiting LotusBean.Com and please sign my guest book.

 BIO
O
riginally from Providence, RI,  I received education in art & fashion at RI School of Design, t
hrough apprenticeship and through independent study as well.  One of 13 syblings, my interest in fashion was born out of necessity.  Over the years, serving as an independent artist and arts educator has allowed much experimentation, diversification & growth.
I am currently working with a variety of media including natural textiles, coloring, layering and embellishing original images to create wall hangings and other functional art forms
The imagery is greatly influenced by a life long interest in spirituality, world culture and philosophy.  Works include hand dyed yardage, wearables, wire & beaded jewelry, mixed media on paper, etc.  Please visit my blog for more art, stories of interest & other details.
